Warning Date: 4:03 am PST on March 12, 2010

WarningSum:...Winter Weather Advisory Remains In Effect From 1 Pm This
Afternoon To 4 Am Pst Saturday...

Warning Message:A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow remains in
effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 4 am PST Saturday.
* Timing: snow and rain will increase this afternoon...changing to
  all snow this evening. A period of heavy snow is most likely
  to impact the higher passes after 1 PM this afternoon...then
  extend into the Lake Tahoe basin between 5 and 10 PM this
  evening.
* Snow accumulations: 3 to 6 inches with locally up to 8 inches at
  lake level...8 to 14 inches above 7000 feet.
* Snow levels: 6500 feet this afternoon...then dropping to lake
  level by early this evening.
* Winds: southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph.
  Ridge gusts up to 100 mph.
* Impacts: travel over the Sierra and around the Lake Tahoe area
  including Interstate 80 and Highway 50 will be affected by this
  storm. Motorists should prepare for slick Road conditions.
  Chain and snow tire requirements are likely. Snow and blowing
  snow will limit visibility to below one half mile at times.

Warning Date: 4:06 am PST on March 12, 2010

WarningSum:...Lake Wind Advisory In Effect Until 1 Pm Pst This Afternoon For
Lake Tahoe...

Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a lake Wind
Advisory for Lake Tahoe...which is in effect until 1 PM PST this
afternoon. 
* Winds: southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph.
* Wave heights: 2 to 3 feet increasing to 3 to 4 feet in the
  afternoon.
* Small boats will be prone to capsizing and should remain off 
  lake waters until conditions improve.

Warning Date: 2:40 am PST on March 12, 2010

WarningSum:...Winter Storm Warning Remains In Effect From 10 Am This Morning
To 4 Am Pst Saturday Above 4500 Feet...

Warning Message:A Winter Storm Warning above 4500 feet remains in effect from
10 am this morning to 4 am PST Saturday. 
* Snow accumulations and elevation: a foot or more above 5000
  feet...and up to a couple of inches accumulating down to around
  3000 feet by late tonight...some snow may fall as low as 2000
  feet late tonight but little accumulation is expected at that 
  level.
* Timing: snow beginning by midday today becoming heavy by late
  afternoon and through the evening...before tapering late
  tonight.
* Winds: southerly wind gusts 45 to 55 mph...locally stronger 
  through passes and over ridges.
* Impacts: hazardous driving conditions for mountain roads such
  as Interstate 80...Highway 50...and Highway 70. 
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning means that significant snow accumulations
are expected and will be combined with strong winds and poor
visibilities that will impact travel. If you must travel...carry  
extra food...water and warm clothing in your vehicle in case you
get stuck. Carry chains when traveling through the mountains and
continue to monitor the latest forecasts for weather updates.

Warning Message:A Wind Advisory remains in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to
4 am PST Saturday. 
* Timing: winds increasing by early this afternoon and continuing
  through tonight. 
* Winds: southwest winds 20 to 30 mph. Gusts up to 55 mph with 
  locally stronger gusts in wind prone areas.
* Impacts: strong winds will affect the Highway 395 corridor 
  from Reno to Mammoth Lakes...creating strong cross winds for 
  high profile vehicles.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Motorists...especially in high profile vehicles...should use
caution and remain alert for sudden gusts or cross winds.  Check
